SOMA

The SOMA candles, are an expression of a very personal creative process. Each candle is drawn by hand and shaped by Nina Petermandl again and again during its creation. As a mother of three, she was intensely confronted with the changes in her own body - not only on a physical level, but also in terms of her mental health. 

Pregnancy and birth leave their mark, and these profound transformation processes of the female body are often not given the space and recognition they deserve in our society. With her SOMA candles, she consciously address these issues.

They are a symbol of change and transience, of visible and invisible marks. Through the title “NOTHING LASTS FOREVER, THE FRUITY DAYS ARE OVER” she reflects these changes. The design of her pieces are therefore not only aesthetic, but also deeply personal and symbolic. 

Crafted from pure, natural white beeswax, the candles emit a soft, tranquil light accompanied by a subtle hint of honey fragrance.
